Tinting Tail Lights, etc.

Has one tinted their lights (tail lights, etc.)

Does anyone have any recommandations for stuff to paint or spray with?? Or is it much easier to have a shop do it. Never did before so.. I don't want to **** up my ****. I have a silver Rx with limo tinted windows and would really cool to tint all my lights.

Only stuff I've ever heard of is Nite Shades . I used it on some orange side markers on a different car once. I liked the results with the first coat. Then I put on a second coat. It went way darker and way "flatter". So I did it again, but this time with body color match. I masked out the car's emblem to allow the light to shine through.

So I've used it, but not kept it. And never used it on brake lights.

Here's a pic of my previous effort :

With Nite Shades ...

Image here - couldn't get it to display - I assume it's the file name

With body paint ...

there are numerous body shops and paint shops that could do it for you...especially if your in LA...the paint is transperant...but don't!!! let me stress that again..don't!!!!! do it by yourself with some transperant paint...it will come out shity and then it will get dull after a few months..then you will Fucc up your lights..get it done professionally...

have fun with tickets, my friend did that with his integra and he gets rolled like no other by the cops... happened 4 days after he got it painted. its not worth the ticket, trouble, or consequences of people not seeing your lights

Saw this tint spray for lights and such...I think the front light covers would look cool tinted.

I'd talk to a tint or vinyl (sign) shop. See if there's an option that's not so permanent like a spray on tint would be.

get a professional (ie. paint shop/spray painter) to do it.
the lights will need a light sand and proepr clean.
most like they will use clear with black tint/pearl
