Ordered new ones, sanded them a bit, spray canned them black. Pretty easy. Costs about $30

No kiddin - you did that CGRX? I like it too - a lot! I'm not a fan of chrome number one, and number two I just don't have confidence in a body shop filling holes on my car if it was debadged. I love the idea of 'smoking' our badges. I just love subtle changes or subtle differences; no bling for me

How did you do that without getting anything on your car either while you were sanding or painting? Anything more you can tell us about just exactly how you did it?

They are rattle canned with no clear coat. They won't last as long as the car. Eventually I will order some more emblems from Mazda again and see if Dmenac7 can do his thing to them so that they will last forever...........
I ordered new badges because I did not wan to bother with re-applying 3M tape. The hardest part of the whole thing is taking off the adhesive on the car left behind by the old badges. It is not hard at all..

I wonder if that would look good on the Nordic Green.

I think that a dull gold/bronze would look awesome on the green, personally

There's also a pearl effect that looks cool, though I don't have a picture. I think that would cost around 150 IIRC. Does anyone have a picture of the pearled badges?
