Single side exhaust?

Does anyone make or have sudgestions on what to do with the emty hole that is left? It seems that someone would come up with a blank out pannel.

Well you could...make a steel mesh panel to put on the back side of your unused exhaust shroud but you might as well do this while your at it:

If I ever decided to go with the single exhaust. I would probably fab up a cover like I've seen some of the S2k guys do. Cause otherwise the car looks too unbalanced for me.

every cover that i have seen looks like COMPLETE ***!

if you do want to make a cover.. dont.. leave it to someone who will do a good job.

What you can do is take the muffler section off and have the exhaust end right by the diff and then you will have 2 empty holes!

balanced!

And if you have a midpipe, you will set car alarms off at idle

Honestly having one exhaust on one side isn't too bad. You'll get over it and from what I've seen with others...trying to mask the other hole or covering it up looks stupid.

If you are already considering a single exit then this shouldn't matter in the first place.

I love my HKS single! I switched it out from the Mazdaspeed dual setup.

I don't see too many single setups besides HKS, RacingBeat and RaceRoots...so I don't know what you mean by cheap besides getting one fabbed up at a shop?

I must say the HKS is pretty sexy at WOT

I dont know Sifu... i think people will be more convinced if we see a closeup shot of the single with the diffuser

Also, CS makes a single now and it looks like poop.

Racing beat also makes two other dual exhausts which sound amazing. And the single exits are really cheap! Race Roots goes for $400 new and HKS like $600 new.
I personally think the HKS makes our Rotary sound like a civic with straight pipes.

I'll just leave this here...

I've gotten nothing but compliments with my RR single exit exhaust, and have yet to hear a dual exhaust that sounds nicer than a single exit lol.

That civic with straight pipes can still go around a corner alot faster than your RX8...which is what the 8 was meant for...

I dont know wtf your talking about damn...

Maybe the only single exit exhausts you have heard were paired with cheap shitty midpipes?

whatever the case, this isnt a thread about single vs dual...

as far as aesthetics go.. some people like the way singles look, some people like the way duals look. the same goes for the way they sound.

and as far as performance goes, the single will always be lighter than a dual.

ANYWAY... lets get back on track talking about "covers" or what you should actually do... not put a cover on.

Race Roots single exit sounds amazing on my car paired with a custom midpipe and high flow cat. Best sounding RX8 i've ever herd.

RR single sounds great... I'm looking for an alternate midpipe though. Too much rasp with the AP mid. I'm most likely just going to modify the AP mid in a couple months.

Never heard the RR. Notice I just said HKS sounds meh. A local has the HKS, its super raspy and just sounds horrible. Maybe he does have a **** midpipe, i dunno.

Could care less about tracking my car. Tracking cars is kinda lame imo.

I track my R6.

Come at me BRO
