I'm actually looking for a silver carbon fiber hood and trunk. Does anyone know if that is possible to get?

 

Most carbon fiber parts are done in black. If you wanted it silver, you'd have to get the hood wrapped in Vinyl. Linky Linky. When I was looking into getting mine wrapped they showed me 3 colors of a textured CF wrap, Black, White, and Red, but it's possible that they'd have other colors... Silver CF is a pretty tall order IMO. If nothing else they can print a silver CF pattern on vinyl and stick *that* to your hood.

 

CF is black. You may get lucky with some carbon-kevlar composites though.
Besides, most "cf" hoods are heavier than the stock one... and cf wraps look dumb.

 

And if people find out it's WRAPPED in CF instead of actually being CF, they're just going to LOL at you.

they do make colored carbon but it is actually fiberglass weave. Don't waste your time on something that weighs more than stock; unless you want a different style hood for aesthetic reasons. If you want light weight you will need dry carbon pieces that will run you well over 3k for hood and trunk (if they even make a dry carbon trunk.)

 

They are made, but doubtful if they do for the 8. I don't even think it's real carbon and probably weighs more than stock. On the website I found, it says they can't do vents do to it not being very rigid, doesn't seem like it would be very good.

 

Nothings impossible if you have $$$$$.

 

Thanks for the info guys, I was just wondering because I saw a picture on google of a 350z with a silver carbon fiber hood and since my 8 is gray I thought it would better with it than black :3 lol But now I know lol

 

calling silver dyed fiberglass "carbon fiber" is like saying you found a red orange that tastes like an apple... you just have an apple.

there is something called aluminized carbon fiber but that's a whole other thing
