Signal indicator on Side Mirror

Guys,

Check out this side mirror with signal indicator just like the Benz. What do you think of this.

I think it's kinda cool. Any idea how much it is, and availability?

I see 3 things that look like they might be prices, and if so this translates to...

38,640 (JPY?) = $356.87
31,290 (JPY?) = $289.00
10,500 (JPY?) = $96.98

Anyone care to translate the text for us?

Regardless, good find Black Arrow! :D

I think turn signals on sideview mirrors are a good idea, but not in front. What's the point since anyone from that angle can already see the front indicators? It's the ones you can see from the side slightly trailing the car that are really useful.

Factory Color painted: 38, 640 JPY
Unpainted 32, 290 JPY
Construction/labor 10, 500 JPY

Sounds like you need to bring it in to Autobacs to get the work done.

Yhea ricer, but I almost got killed by an SUV that didn't see me so I really want a pair of these, anyone else thinking of buying them? If we get enough we can probally save on shipping if we order all together, or something, anyways how do you get in contact with them I saw no e-mail, and I am not calling Japan to ask if anyone speaks english!

Not sure I'd go them, especially with advertising like this "Dress rise of the night of course thing, image of daytime becomes stylish depending upon the LED internal organs Wien car mirror." Can someone please translate the translation for me please?

Go back up. Reread my post. This looks like a mirror MOD by Autobacs rather than a new mirror. The best way is to call and find out, but from what that site says, that is what is sounds like.

You know when you translate Japanese to english it never sounds good especially from an on-line translator. Something as simple as "this supercharger can add more horespower", can be translated to, something Crazy "increase power of the wind into your engine charging of super". It is the way the syntax and grammar is in Japanese, its not that they are trying to say that the internal organs of the LED makes it look elegant.

Japan8 from what I can see from the picture it is a mod, but it looks like it may be a shell that needs to be replaced from our factory one. I don't think it neccasarily means we have to bring in the car to their shop for this to be done, it looks like in the pic they have several of them just sitting on the boxes they came from.

Found this site showing how they install the new side mirrors. Put it in one of the translators.

Do you have a link to Au-to Bahn STrasse kit that we can view to compare and are the mirrors available separately from a whole kit?

Whats the link to MS Mirrors. I haven't stumbled across them?

I like the lights in mirrors ... ties in nicely to clear side markers.

I've sent email to Eddy at http://www.adrenalineracing.com to see if he is interested in proposing a group buy. He has good Japanese contacts to import miata products. Lets see what develops. BJ

Well...Here I be..
I've been asked to see if I can help promote a group buy of some sort for the mirrors...I just dont know which mirrors people want!!

I have access to all types of mirrors produced in Japan, so if someone wants to post/e-mail me a list of the mirrors people are interested in I'll see what I can do about getting them imported into the U.S!!

Have you ever dealt with a Japanese company? Most, if not all are not accomodating in this way. This is their prodcut, which represents them and they want it to look top quality. They don't want any complaints/responsibility for it not coming out right. Beyond that... it's like Subway Japan... there was a prefect article I read in a "Tokyo Notice Board" talking about ordering a tuna wrap vs a tuna sub. The person wanted mustard on the tuna wrap, but the Subway people (including the manager) said no, they can't do that because mustard is not an option for the the tuna wrap, but it is for the tuna sub. Japan isn't about common sense, it's about following the rules.

I do agree that it may only be a cover replacement... but the above still applies (thus the labor charge). Whomever is welcome to call and try get it.

[Original text translation from http://www.r-3.jp/info.htm]
Super Autobacs Chiba Naganuma is going to begin sale of their Original RX-8 Indicator Mirror Cover (rushiora). They are taking orders from July 7th. Sales begin on August 8th. A special present for pre-sales is a free run on the chassis dyno (torque, horsepower).

It can be bolt-on attached to the stock mirror.
It is necessary to cut a hole in the stock mirror.
Due to the LED bulb Indicator Mirror you of course get a dress-up look not only at night, but during the day it's stylish as well.
