lets just say I couldn't imagine driving with this bumper on a lowered 8.

It gets pretty nice clearance I would say, I was able to test out the clearance over some hefty speed bumps when I got it home. Made it over them barely,

kenny did another great job it looks like.....he said to me yours was the last one he would do because of the extra work he had to do on it.....you must have gotten one of the worse ones because when i was there thursday he was rebuilding the hell out of it!

i thought shine auto made good replica kits, at least close enough to those authentic ones. cuz my buddy bought replica amuse kits from shine auto for his 350, and we were told by the shop guy that it was almost perfect fit.

It's ALMOST a perfect fit.
Here are the problems with the kit...

clean fit

THe only fitment issues

i thought i saw a small corner by the hood and front left head light
I fixed the issue with the corners though.
I bought clear corners and drilled a hole on top and moved it forward to close the gap.

that was on your kit only.....at kenny's shop i have seen at least 6 shine autobahn's go through there and every single one of them had a different spot that needed to be touched or rebuilt.....some by the corners, some by the mounting points, some by the fenders, and they are paper thin.....i am also noticing now a year after the most of them are purchased the kits have spider cracks EVERYWHERE

I thought spider cracks were from the painting process? I know the kits are made from some type of hybrid FRP, which doesn't help the situation, but isn't there some flex adhesive that you apply when painting it to help counter act that?

you can only add so much flex adhesive to such a thin and flimsy product....the thinner it is the more it flexes and the more the paint cracks......it is what it is.....

personally i'm not crazy about the autobahn kit because it changes the look of the 8 way too dramatically and looks too much like a cheap ferrari imitation. the lines are very unnatural and the nose drops too sharply. imo, a good aftermarket bumper should accent and/ or accentuate and/ or enhance the natural look of the 8 and not try to make it look completely like another car. <shrugs>

true dat andi think we always have had simular opinions on car mods. im reall picky when it comes to changing out bumpers and stuff, body kits have to be understated and simple.

THey do have quite a reputation over at rx7club for FC's and FD's. It seems like RX8 replica's are a little hard to make (even shine auto admitted it).
