Shine AutoBahn Front Bumper Cracked!
I just received my Shine AutoBahn Front Bumper today and to my disappointment there were three cracks in the bumper and a metal piece that seems to have fallen off from somewhere. I attached pictures.
I just contacted the company.
What do you guys think I should do?
Can a body shop easily fix these cracks to make sure they never are seen again.
Thank You,
John H.

Our parts are flexible fiberglass, which we call, "Hybrid FRP", simply because the materials used are not conventional in fiberglass parts. The materials are exclusively formulated by our company to get the results we want. Our new products have a specially formulate surface coat, which is a flexible primer, which is easier to sand than gel coat (found in most FRP aero parts) and also adheres better to primer and paint. Careful selection of fabrics and resins used ensure that we offer a unique product our competitors claim to have and only wish they had.

i would try and see if they would replace it for you. it looks like your front bumper may have been squished during transportation. as they said, its flexible fiberglass....it should stand up to this sort of thing. sorry to hear about your damaged goods

Flexible as it may appear to be, fiberglass still behaves in some part like fiberglass so I would assume it's still more prone to crack than urethane for example. Although being fiberglass still I would assume that it might still be relatively repairable just like normal fiberglass.

Yeah, DO NOT PAY a shop to repair it. Yes its a replica and u most likely will be getting fitment work done, but that thing coming with cracks like that is BS. I had this happen to me with a prior car of mine. Was a big hassle, had to pack up ship back, ect, ect, and i didnt end up getting other one for long time. I just HATE companies that ship out **** like this that is obviously damaged. They bank on the fact that u dont want to go through the hassle of sending it back and waiting for another one to come. Im sure they packed up the cracked one i sent back and simply turned around and shipped it to some other unsuspecting customer. Crooks.

i agree with chris, let shine figure it out. but for those saying it was shine's fault, i don't agree. it looks like it was damaged in shipping, not shipped that way so they will file a claim with the shipping company.

I got my Autobahn kit from shine as well. Luckily, to prevent shipping damage, I went there and picked it up in person since I live like 20 minutes away from Shine. I had to order the bumper three days in advance because they had to make it. All and all, the fitment is great, just some minor details that was easily fixed by me. It's currently being painted and will be on my car soon.

Buckle Up. I'm trying it
Love Shine
I just bought their autobahn replica from a private vendor that was a little damaged. To my disappointment, in order for my shop guy to finish my car, I had to order a whole new one. I now have two. To my surprise, Ken at Shine gave me 20% off the new bumper and reinforced it more for free because I had to buy another one, even though it wasn't their fault. Good service. And good fitment
