Ok here's what I'm thinkin', I'm more than likely going to be buying a car sometime in october and I'd like to stay in the mazda family. It's for my gal so I'm thinkin about going with a Mazda 2 or 3. You think i can get a free or at least a discounte on an appearance package for my rx-8 if i agree to buy a new/used mazda from the dealer? Or am I kidding myself and that's totally unheard of?

 

save your breath, they'll be less willing to negotiate the price down if theyre also discounting your stuff for your 8. just focus on the car at as low a price as you can negotiate and use the saved money towards buying one elsewhere.

Sales & Parts/service are completely separate entities within the dealership.

The salesperson will love your idea though (beacuse just like with trade-ins) the more complex the deal you're trying to make, the easier it is to screw you over by "sneaking in" additional fees, interest rates, hiking prices etc. While you ar ebeing distracted by that "one shiny deal" they are dangling in front of your face (be it a trade in value, a lower monthly payment, free accessories or anything else like that)
