A Saturday with Mazdaspeed

everything went smoothly....except for the foglight install. not sure why mazda didn't include harware with the brackets or even acknowledge them in the instructions, but after much cursing and gnashing of teeth.....

...you can see my buddy's evo in the background. next weekend skirts. the rear the weekend after that.

the run lights and corners are super white leds from superbrightleds.com. The leds were cheap enough that I bought serveral types of white leds. some of them had a slight, subtle blue tint. the camera might have enhanced the blue. the fogs are piaa xtreme white.

Those fog lights brackets aren't easy to install, however the directions for them are hard to follow. I thought that this was the most time consuming part of all, just wait till you get to the skirts. - Looks great, good luck!

The fog brackets were really tough (time consuming is right...notice the passing of time in the photos). I'll do the skirts today or tomorrow.

I should have done the skirts first and then the front and rear. Tein S, plus the lower front are make it hard to get the car up on jack stands.

i don't think you need the xenon headlights, but the brackets are cut to take the glass housing from the oem fog lights....not sure if you can just buy the glass housings. you might need to buy the mazda fog light kit if you don't have fog lights.

btw. for anyone trying to install the mazdaspeed fog light brackets without instructions....line up the angle on the fog light hole with the inside edge of the bumper.

the headlights are the stock xenons, the run lights and corners are super white leds that have a slight blue tint

they aren't different...although the way the paint is layed on may be different...so may look a little 'off' in a different lighting...a great paint job near your home may turn out better as they can spread the paint in the same direction to make a very similar look...but unlikely they will do a great job anyhow

painted, i'm sort of a perfectionist and the silver matches perfectly. i don't think the colors are different between countries.

i was concerned about paint fade/change and bought the kit as soon as i could. darker colors may be more prone to fading/changing over time (e.g. maybe if you bought a black or red in 2003 and parked it outside, there may be a slight color variation if you were to mount the painted kit now.....
