Rusty rear rotors

Hey so my car for awhile now has had rusty rear rotors and it kills me to look at it I dont know why its doing that though is it becuase the brake pad isnt touching that spot on the rotor ? Its killing me though and I was just wondering what you guys thought about the rust (also my front rotors are completley fine and applying the brakes does not work to take it off on the rear ones ) Any and all help is appreciated ! :D

It's a common issue that has been discussed a billion times. Some people were able to get them fixed at the dealer. But basically any rust remover and caliper paint would work to cover the rust. But honestly that's a bit of work. Most just take the opportunity to upgrade.

Oh, and in the future, try and learn to use the search function rather than creating new threads on topics that have been created a bunch of times before. If you look at the bottom of the page you will see a "similar threads" section and you can see a glimpse of how many times your question has been asked.

I believe the dealer fix was paint as well. Forgot which year but on new RX-8s the rotor hubs were painted silver as a work around only.

Well, they don't stay pristine forever, especially if you live in a cold/wet/salty climate. Gotta pay to play.

If they still have a lot of life left then let them sit in Metal Rescue, then paint and clear and they will look good as new.

Can you use WD-40 or rust-o-leum to take the rust off, just curious.
