Both water temperature and oil temperature it is the cooling bonnet which was developed in the one for harsh RX8.
By letting escape the ardor inside the engine compartment, both water temperature and oil temperature
There is an effect which it lowers and has an influence on also the durability of the engine and the motor oil.
In addition, on the reverse side of the bonnet duct, the " rain hood part " becomes attachment being
It includes the water at the time of the rain and the car washing, it is designed to be the structure which is dropped into the body front.
Of course, it does to install this part, even to the cartridge a cooling effect there is.
When it is circuit travelling and the like which clears up, as for this " rain hood part "
Being one-touch, it is removal and re-installation possible.

I'm looking for a vented hood to battle the extreme heat of the desert valley. I somewhat agree though, the smaller ones a nice but the larger ones don't follow the lines of the car. Good to know that some designs are being worked up..

It reminds me of those overkilled hood vents on the C-West kit.
Ah C-West. I wonder when they will come out with something for the 8. C-West offers pretty nice kits in general IMO (other than the hood).

...what a joke.
me and charlie both miss the louvers on the hood from the concept RX-8 (as does nearly every other person enamoured with the origional idea), but this is disgusting.
tasteless, artless, and unappealing: no, more is not always better.
out.

The RX-8 hood was designed with air-pockets as a safety feature incase if one were to run somebody down.(There was a thread about this award winning feature).
Why do one wants to sacrifice that safety feature just to cool their engine a little or save couple of pounds off from a CF hood.
By the way will the change of the hood cause any insurance issues???
Someone out there probably would be praying 'please don't let me run down by a 8 who's got a aftermarket hood, Amen'

i don't like the big slots sither. it doesn't go with the car's line.
what is this hood made out of by the way? the stock one is extrimely light and to put something like this if is fiberglass is a total waste... make a similar one out of carbon fiber (real ) or aluminum and we will see..

I've seen it before. I'd like it more if the two large vents were one large vent. Living in Phx through the summer means hella hot! and I need all the cooliing and ventelation I can get. Not a bad design, just not refined enough to mesh with the lines of the 8.

stupid and ricey.
EVERYONE who fell in love with the concept RX-8 cried rivers over losing the beautiful shark-gill hood louvers, but those're absolutely disgusting... it would look far better without the monster holes, and kept with just the smaller, more aerodynamically functional louvers located toward the rear of the hood.

It looks ugly and tacked on... like someone just took a swazall to an RX-8 hood as part of a high school shop class. The louvered hood on the original RX-8 concept was way better looking and much more subtle and tasteful than this one.
