taking it off is easy, replacing it not so much especially that firewall piece

mine looks like crap but the competition rules require it to remain in place

.

I know on rx7club people say not to remove the one on the hood, apparently it has tabs that melt off and the piece douses any fire in the engine if there was an engine fire.

Im not sure how prone the rx8 is to engine fires but i suspect less than the rx7s.

either way, I wouldnt remove it after knowing that it was to prevent fires on rx7s.
