Thumbs up Removed black B-pillar vinyl.

I dont know if any of you have done this, or if this has already been posted. I removed the stock black vinyl tape that covers the B-pillar. It is painted underneath, my car is nordic green and I think it looks alot better with the b-pillar the same color as the car. It just makes it look more connected in that area. My friend has a red RX-8 and it really helps the look. I used a heat gun to remove the vinyl, it only took about 10 minutes to do both of them. I will post pics later today.

Never thought that it could be removed or that it was painted underneath.

yup, its painted and clearcoated underneath. It was really easy to remove to. Once I heated it up it peeled right off.

Damn I should have removed it instead of buying the B-illar trim.
Post a few pictures please. Of the removed trim as well.

i think that's cool, but it also removes the illusion of a 2 door car.

I don't like it.It takes away the look of one window. My friend was always telling me to do the same on my 99 Mazda B4000 Troy Lee edition truck, but I never did,and now I am glad I didn't listen to him.

Can you take a pic of the whole car from the side? I would like to see some other pics before I judge how it looks.

I think it would be easier to see what it looks like witha picture of your friends red 8...any pictures of that one. You said you did them at the same time. I have a black 8, so it makes no difference to me...but it is hard to notice the paint color on the nordic.

i tried it on my wrecked door on my blue 8. doesn't look good on the lighter colors. maybe tit grey. but on the black and greens it stays dark enough. the lighter colors i think it will disrupt the solid window look.

Question Here's a shot

Well we had a scratch repaired, so we decided to try it out. Go ahead and vote. With or without? We haven't decided yet.

Keep it buddy. It would look good but since the rear window is still surrounded by black it looks weird.

I would leave the B-pillar trim on....looks too chopped up with it off. May look different with tinting on the windows..if that is in your future. I think I would still keep it, with tinting.
