^ Thanks, I'm pretty sure I will go with mesh grill now.
^ Did you remove the foam? Other wise you will have white dirty foam showing through.
The only problems with removing the grill is that you will have to support the middle of the bumper. As you can probaly see I have zip ties coming down from the big bar and holding up the middle part, also it isnt very easy to attach this stuff.
And yes I did remove the foam, if someone wants they could paint it black but I think its better looking just to remove it and paint the metal bar black considering it will be your car color. |

you know this may not be a bad idea for those big ole intercoolers people run.
I think i might do this!
be nice to fill that space up with a inercooler or secondary radiator--can someone photoshop it?

Ive done this myself, but was wondering if i installed an AEM cold air intake if id get any problems with water? being i live in london and all it does is rain!
I thought about doing this when i first got my 8. thanks for the motivation. I'm gonna use different mesh though.
I am really thinking about doing this... what is the grill made of and how did you make it black? Is it powder coated? I tried painting the aluminum vent covers on my hood black and the paint is already starting to chip after 2 months...

Sounds like a possible mod for my series one, to add an additional oil cooler.

this is how mine came out after removing mine, removing the foam, painting the crash bar black, installing mesh which i also painted black, and putting it back together
I like it. I might try this as well. Only real issue I see possible is water in a rain storm?.
i havent had any issues yet and im in fl. i just have the intake sock on my AEM..

Some here have been known to call duct tape....Home Depot Racing:yelrotflmjust wondering what they would call "Zip Ties" installed on the 8?...LOL. |
I have it done too, but my lip in messed up so i have like 15 zipties on my bumper for the lip and the god damn undercover, lol. i love the look though, it just looks ghetto with all the zipties, lmao. I think ima go grille-less when i get my aftermarket bumper

Sorry to bring back a old thread. In was wondering what people have used for this mesh grill or any other type of new grill. If you have pics of what you have done please post them.
