refinishing front bumper
refinishing front bumper
I got a crack in my front bumper and am going to get a new one. I found a good deal on a used front bumper, but it is black and my car is titanium. What would be the process of painting it after stripping the paint off. What does Mazda use when they paint theres i.e. layers of primer, paint, clear, etc? I have a guy who is going to paint it, he just wants to know what exact process to use.
My new 8's got a titanium front bumper with front air dam, and I am considering getting a MazdaSpeed front bumper. It seems you've already got a black one or we may want to work something out.
Be careful on just letting anyone do the paint work. I have a Titanium colored "8" also and it was rear-ended. It only damaged the rear bumper wrap (thank God no metal damage) and the body shop I took it to specialized in custom and hard to match colors. It took them two tries to get it to match.
Titanium is a very hard color to match. They did get mine right on the second try and I cannot (nor can anyone else) tell it had the bumper painted.
Good luck!
