Rear bumper mod

I've searched but haven't been able to find this mod.
Has anyone know of or seen the stock rear bumper where the simulated mesh has been replaced with real mesh?
I'm thinking if you replace your mufflers with SS units this would look sharp.

Those are not what he wants to do. Sounds like he wants to cut the bumper fake black grills out and put in some nice mesh that extends behind the bumper - right?

Some very patient people have painted the plastic to simulate a steel mesh insert. Defintely not me though.

but with a rear mesh you will see all the stuff that the bumper... "should" cover. if you've look at the veilside rear, you'll know what i mean, cuz they got a mesh there.

Exactly
If you go to the expense of putting on the RB exhaust then you should see it.
I'll have to look again but I think all you will see is the mufflers

You might need to cut back the OEM pan sheild a bit in back that used to surround the huge OEM single can muffler. Otherwise you might see it

Those screans at rx8strakes.com are the right idea but I would want them to be functional. Not sure but I think these are just mounted on top of the OEM part. I'm going to lift the car this weekend and get a better look.

I don't like when something just seems to be real, so I made it on my car. I used black alu grills. I like that the shiny heat shields seems, but that means, you have to wash it everytime, when you clean your car. Maybe the hot air can easier goes away from under the car, so the trunk is "cooler".
Sorry, I haven't got better pics in this moment, maybe tomorrow.

Looks nice, just think that the grille should haf been more visible. i.e thicker, like the front ones.

what airspeed says. make it thicker, and your eyes have to be level with the bumper to see through it. That's what Lotus did for the exige and elise. This most likely would have to be custom made and expensive...

Ayrton012 that looks great. Can you tell us more about what you did to achieve this?
Many Thanks

Oh EDIT: I plan on getting the MS kit. Can you do this to the MS rear bumper?

i don't really see how you can do this to the MS rear since there is nothing on it that looks like it should have a grille.

Thanks AYRTON012 thats the look I want to achieve
The only difference I was thinking was to use the SS mesh that you see used in grills in the R model Jag or the custom 300 Hemi.
Did you just cut-out the plastic and attach the mesh fron the back?

Thanks! 1.You have to lift up the car to remove the exhaust drum, so you don't have to remove the bumper. Other way: Remove the rear bumper.
2. I cut out the artifical grille from the bumper with an air-saw (slowly). After it I fined the edges of the holes with a very sharp knife and a file. There is a line in the plastic whitch helps you to make nice work.
3. Cut out much bigger part from alu grille, than the cutted holes, so you can bend back the edges of the grilles, which is needed to fix those on the bumper. You can use little screws ( at the inner side of the bumper), or siloplast glue to fix the grilles. The rear bumper has a curve, so you have to bend the cutted grilles a little bit (by hand) before fix them in the bumper, of course.
Sorry for my english.

do a search fro RotaryRasp....He didn't cut the mesh, but placed the mesh on top. It looked nice, even in person.
