Question on rear bumper (the molding part)
Question folks, has anyone here color matched the molding part or the rear bumper? If I do this, do you think the paint will hold up from chipping, fading, etc.?
Thanks again.

I am not trying to hijack this thread, but while we are on the subject of rear bumper cover molding color, I want to know if this is actually painted or is the black just the color of the plastic?

I think there's a reason why the bottom part of the bumper is black and not color-matched: ours cars have a "big butt". The rear of the 8 is not its "best side", and looks too large, almost out of proportion with the rest of the car. I think Mazda made the bottom of the bumper black to trick the eye and visually make the rear appear smaller. I could be wrong, but that's my hunch.
