question on how to connect leds to engine bay and more help please!

I originally had these LED strips connected straight to the parking light. I stuffed the wires in where the bulb goes and put the parking light bulb right on top of it. It worked very well cause the led strips went on as i pleased with the parking light. After a bit it started flickering and one side went out. I want to know how and where to connect it to the engine bay fuse box?

Also, I tried that method a second time and it started to catch on fire and burned out the led bulb of the parking light. I tried a second bulb after removing those wires that I would hold in with the bulb and it blew it again. How can I clean where the bulb goes so it stops doing that. I undestanf I did something to the receiving part of the parking light but how do I make it stop burning out the bulbs?

If you want to connect the LEDs to the parking lights, please don't just shove wires down into the socket along side the bulb. Obviously wires are touching that shouldn't if you are blowing things and starting fires. That's more than a little dangerous. Seriously, get a couple of wiretaps and just tap into the wires that run to the socket. Safe and easy.
