Question about debadging

My goal for debadging the trunk was to take off the words "Mazda" and "Rx-8".
After succesfully taking off the unwanted symbols, I am having trouble removing the adhesive that was under the "Rx-8". Does anyone have a suggestion on how I should try removing it? I don't want to try a knife because Im scared it might leave a whole bunch of scratches. So can anyone shed some light on this?

Yup. Goo-gone or Oops will work fine. I keep them both on hand.
