Anyone know what type of black is used for the mesh on our rear bumpers?

Are you sure it's painted and not just the color of the plastic shot used in the mold? Stupid question since you must have a peeling issue if your asking?

Nope no peeling issues. I am thinking of painting something down there and want to know the original color in case I don't like it/screw up.

oh. Then I revert to my original thought.......it's most likely not painted. Actually, I've painted similar plastic mesh screens on other cars and if the mesh truely is just black plastic shot used in the mold.....then you can use a paint stripper to remove any paint you apply. They make a special paint stripper that is safe for most plastics and you can find it at almost any professional auto body supply store.

Thanks bascho that's good to know, but why not add real mesh screen to the rear bumper?
