Ok so i picked up a fd wing from a friend for the low price of free to see if i could use it for something. i never really intended to put it on my 8 but now i am considering it. as you can see in the pictures i have made some very drastic mods to my bumper, but looking at the wing and the bumper they kind of seem to mirror each other in a cool way. if i decide to do this i will of coarse shave down everything so all 4 mounting points sit flush to the trunk lid and i most likely will mold it to the car to keep it looking clean. let me know what you guys think.

nope, note a fan. It looks a lot like the OE 8 spoiler, but theres those extra bars in the middle which make it look out of place

Lets face it; the 7 wing doesnt even look good on itself

 

I think it's too narrow for the car... try a GTO wing like Chrism and Rotr8 had/have.

cmr I think it looks ok,,, if you wanna go wider try what Salamanth said,,, this is what I did to mine, and I know how you like to do it clean and diferent,,, Notice how I removed the third brake light from the trunk and welded a plate over the hole and smoothed it out... the integrated brake light comes in the wing ,,, and there are two different types of lights a red housing and a clear housing , I opted for the clear just to hide it that much more... Its the GTO wing and can be picked up on Ebay for about $60....
And I also think that the wing compliments what youve done with the bottom of your bumper with how it wraps over the top of the quarter panels...

yeah the white mr2 is mine and is going to be the dd, i love it and there is a huge mr2 club here in jax.. as for the spoiler i have seen the gto wing and yeah its nice but not really my cup of tea. ive thought about widening the wing a bit to make it fit the car and maybe extending the tips of the wing to wrap around the 1/4's. but we will see what the general concensus is. keep the comments coming.

 

I think it compliments your bumper but I'm just not sure, I mean I like it but I would just like to see it all one color lol

 

i know what he has in there. but here's how i see it. he doesn't have an 8 anymore. before he had his engine with a beautiful 8 body kit. now he's doing violence to the body kit. it's just sad to me. and i wonder why he continues to come here and show off this monster. it's like watching a torture/snuff film, or it's some horrible version of neurath's boat.

the spoiler on the gg looks like earmuffs.

i know the engine isnt everybodys favorate choice thats not the topic here. but violence to the kit? If you do not like the car thats fine. your opinion is dually noted. and i come back here to show off my monster because there are alot of members here that like what ive done and think its pretty cool, no its not an 8 anymore i have stated that many times but it still has a mazda body, suspension, interior and some of the drivtrain and so on. so there should be no problem with me posting here about my car. so its plain and simple, if you dont like like watching or reading then just ignore it.

 

i sort of enjoy it too. it's a snuff show. and who doesn't like that? and then there's creation of a monster which is cool too.

also, you still have many parts of the 8. i'm interested in the philosophical question as to when exactly your car stopped being an 8.

its cool man.. well it kind of stopped being an 8 because its not a rotary experiment. Its now a sr experiment, so i dubbed it the srx (sr experiment). so technically its a 1 lol. but i still refer to it as my 8 to not confuse people.

 

Sorry but not a fan of the Mazda 6 fake tips and the bumper... Also I always hated that rx-7 spoiler, made the car look ghey, so my answer is, it looks worse on the rx-8, for the love of god don't put that **** on.

 

NO! Just looks wrong on the car. Doesn't flow with the cars lines.
