Just installed a set.

Trick for me seemed to be installing the hood bracket slightly crooked. That gave the ball joint proper clearance. I guess that's to be expected with aftermarket parts

Also, i pre installed the ball joints, then when installing the damper I compressed the shaft and screwed it in. The fender mount ball joint security pins are a real bitch!

The last photo shows how the dampers give the hoodline a slight bow and increase the gap. O well.

 

Strange, I do not have that gap on mine.

 

So where is a good reputable place to order these the cheapest in carbon fiber?

check the nrg website to see who's still carrying them. People have had issues with them bending the hood (i havent).
