not really understanding the Mazdaspeed front bumper...

I have a 2005 RX8 with the Grand Touring package, and i was looking at the Mazda speed front bumper, besides some wire mesh, i dont see any real difference between that and what came stock with my car... i mean 1200 bucks to have some wire mesh on the front? Maybe someone can point out something i'm missing perhaps?

have you taken a good look at one? it makes the car look beefy.
if it's too much $ you can always get the replicas.

Question OK...I'm in....

The ONLY front I like is the MS.

...but up here in Canukland, the price is just insane - does anyone have a hookup with a cheap knock-off version, that has even "reasonable" fit/quality?

Anyone with some info on a good compromise ?

IT is considerably lower, has less of the "Smile", is much more forward than stock at the lip. The plus is that it comes painted in your color. Plug and play.

Uhhh ... lots of differences. here's a link from a meet we had in Calgary with my stock blue, Admiral 8's frontair dam and Slowludes MS front. If you scroll down to Rotten42's post #8, he's got a front comparison pic of airdam vs MS

Cool! Thanks! I too was having a hard time seeing what the difference was. I was thinking of starting a before and after MS front thread, but this answers that question for me.

Edit: Oh, and the picture has three differnet ones. Stock, front air dam, and MS. Nice

Now if I can only get a picture of the rear before and after.

is there any way to remove the plastic black part in the MS front bumper? I know it's for the front plate, but it just looks hideous.

You could get a chrome one here.(forum sponsor)

Or you could go with Racing Beats first gen kit.

Here are some good pictures of the 2005 Mazdaspeed RX-8 II... You can really see the difference on the front grill.

I googled around, and found this.

https://www.rx8club.com/rx-8-discussion-3/new-2005-news-37230/

It looks like the 2 was a limited edition for Japan only, and the kit is not available.
