Night Shades and Plastidip

Was really concerned with how the taillights would turn out, but overall one of the easiest projects to do with great results.

These actually let plenty of light through. State law here does not consider them illegal since they are visible from 100' clearly. To each his own though...

To each their own indeed. Though I suppose if mine was black I'd probably do the same.

So you're saying those are visible in direct sunlight from 100'?

They look much darker in this iphone picture. Doing 2 to 2 &1/2 coats gets a dark look, but will still let a lot of light through. A friend of mine did his headlights darker then he probably should and there's a rather notable drop in visibility. Not really my cup of tea.
But yes, doing a street test of pretty close to 100' in the neighborhood, clearly visible.

Not sure about that, looks too dark for me though. Anyway, to each, their own.

I think it's kinda starting to get played out but it looks pretty good IMO.

Why is your left rear Mazda emblem crooked?

Its not, the sticker above it is.
Did you clear over the night shades? Even if you did don't worry about it being to dark because it will fade and lighten up it will just take a little bit longer than if you didn't clear it. I did 3 coats of nightshades and 2 coats of clear and mine still lightened up after a while. I have had no problems with police or accidents and mine have been done for a little over a year now.
I had also plastidiped my emblems at the same time. I just recently removed the plastidip and think it looks better without. More contrast, since I also have flat black wheels.

Also there is a detailing product called back to black that will make your exhaust shrouds look worlds better.

3 coats of clear. Most of the reviews I read strongly recommended clearing for some of the same reasons.
