Need front bumper absober cover that comes with MS Front bumper kit.

I have the MS body kit, I bought it on ebay and didn't get the black plastic cover strip that is in the center top part of the grill that covers the metal bumper absorber frame. Where can you buy this? Does anyone have to sell??

The kit I bought just came with the bumper and the mess grill cover and not the black plastic cover piece that hides the front bumper absorber frame from showing through the grill. I bought the MS bumper on ebay and its not an original MS its a fiberglass copied one. Can you buy that cover separately?? Anyone have one for sale???

Yeah?? I thought so! Right now I have the frame painted black (since my rx8 is red) and its ok but had heavy rain last two weeks and it started to peel off exposing the red. Sucks! I really want to just have the oem bumper back honestly

Post some pics of what you have. Maybe some people can lend you some advice on possible fixes.

Hey man I don't know if my message got sent to you, but yeah about your fiberglass bumper shield you have.. You want to work something out for it?? I really need something since I my RX is Red and the absorber was spray painted black but since its so open to debris and bad weather, its all stripped off and looks like crap. Let me know, thanks again, I appreciate it. Mazdarx804-

man what a waste, you would have been better off just saving for a real one, now you're wasting money downgrading from stock. Good luck with it, if it were me I'd sell the rep and use that towards a real one.

Real parts are more expensive because they're higher quality, it costs more money to use higher quality materials and to use more time for R&D like test fitting and perfecting the mold etc., if a "kit" sells for like 300 bucks or less like what I've seen on eBay, just think about how cheap it must have been to make it? Notice how all the knock off companies sell "kits", yet their "kits" are always missing pieces like mesh or the piece you're looking for, this is why I give people grief over buying fake kits, you're keeping these ripoff artists in business, just have some patience and spend the money right the first time. I'm not trying to be an *** or anything, I just hate seeing people ruin their cars and perpetuate these companies that prey on people who don't know any better.

First off the "replica" fits the exact same as the real one. The body show had never seen one (as they had installed many rep MS kits) that fit exactly as the real one. It looks, feels, installs and cost only 150$ so I'm fine with it. I just wanted for my own OCD manner to have the cheap plastic trim to cover what you BARLEY SEE behind the mesh grill. If I can't find one or it's not possible as I have been told, then I will just take my bumper off, clean, prime, and spray paint black whatever little that is shown. My car was not bought to spend and waste all the money you have to make it look or what you assume looks like a show car. My RX8 looks amazing and thats what every and anyone who sees it says. No one even knows that something is missing. So not a waste and *** far as "cheap", the bumper had come with all pre-cut out holes for the wheel well pins and all the same materials as the real MS. Do your homework like I did and you would see the money you could of and would of saved. Thanks for your comment that didn't pertain what soever to my thread I posted. Be useful, helpful, not cocky and ignorant.

But yes I do agree that purchasing fake, cheap or replicated parts for which are used to fix the engine for it to run properly, or to perfect the ride quality with good tires and interior parts etc. But spending thousands of $ on a car with a value when driven off the lot of less than 20,000-25,000$$ to me isn't worth it.. I would rather put that extra $$ towards a BMW. Thats my opinion.. To each is own...

useful - like as in helping bring the Metra kit to market so people no longer had to spend over 600 bucks just for a frickin' dash kit right? They used my input and my scratchbuilt dash as part of their development for it, What have you contributed?

helpful - like as in helping people out on this forum thousands of times over the years with wheel choices, tire choices, engine questions, interior questions, exterior questions, wiring, idling, exhaust, suspension, brakes, debadging, and whatever other question they ask me, that's not even counting the people I've helped in person here in town with their own rides and/or questions about them, I've even offered to go out of town to help people with suspension, stereo, intake, radiator, etc. installs as well. I work in IT for a living, I've been "helpful" all my life, I put others before myself more times than I care to mention and I get burned by it all the time too, but I still do it anyway. Have you ever bought a total stranger lunch in the drive thru before? I have, lots of times.

Cocky- Find me a thread of mine where I state how amazing my car is and how everyone tells me it looks awesome, find me one where I'm telling everyone how badass my car is or how awesome I am for owning such a badass car, you won't find anything like that, most you will find is maybe a thread or two with some pics and info. on what's in the pics, and that's it. You're the one saying "my car is amazing and everyone who sees it thinks so"...so who's being cocky then?

Ignorant - This one takes the cake, you're trying to convince me your 150 dollar ebay kit is the same quality as my authentic Mazdaspeed kit is a joke. I know Mazdaspeed's are made using Metton, which is a propietary material used by Mazda and nobody else, it has qualities that polyurethane and fiberglass just don't have. Mine came with all the necessary parts and has a factory paint job (which I wound up repainting anyway but still) and fit right out of the box, there's no modification needed, there's no sanding (or trying to sand out and fill etc.) out the waves in it, it's perfectly flat, smooth, and matches the factory hood/fenders like it came with the car when installed. For you to call me ignorant when you obviously don't know the difference, or understand the real differences between fake and real parts is ridiculous, I've been building show cars/trucks and competing with them for over 20 years, I've seen it all, including cars with horrible bodykits on them that still win trophies becaused they're judged poorly.

I don't even understand why you swapped bumpers anyway if you're worried about the car depreciating, if that's a concern of yours you have no business modding a car anyway, why bother? Besides, "this isn't a car you're wanting to turn into a show car" so again, why are you changing it up? I won't call you ignorant on that stuff, maybe you're just confused is all.

Maybe you shouldn't make assumptions about people and their cars who you don't know, it took me several years to get my car where it is, I had help from friends and eventually even picked up some partial sponsors and I didn't earn that help or those connections through being "cocky" or "ignorant". I didn't spend "all my money" or "waste" it either, sure it wasn't free to do what I did to my car, but with me and friends doing all the work it wasn't nearly as expensive as you're assuming either. Besides, I don't think spending money on something you love and are passionate about (like customizing/modding/whatever is with me) is a "waste" anyway.

My posting in your thread was to help other people who see it think twice about buying cheap **** for their cars, it's obviously too late for you, but maybe someone else will see this and realize that you really do get what pay for, in parts, wheels, tires, everything including bodykits. If there wasn't any difference, than they'd all be the same price.

I can't see your pic if you posted one, all I get is an "X".

good luck finding your missing piece, I'm done with this thread.

I don't care of what I contributed to any company. I'm not getting anything out of it nor do I care. I have a car I wanted to put an aftermarket part on it and thats all, so I don't really understand your whole company rep. deal or why you have to be so competative it seems about something that really didn't have anything to do with you since you DIDN'T help ME with my posted thread you just criticized it and said things which I could careless about. So yes cocky you were to me, I don't know nor care about your attitude with other people because thats not my business. Also I'm sure you have and are helpful to other people which I never said you weren't, I said you weren't to me and I'm not everyone so you should of read my post reply to you a little better and notice I was speaking to you about the reply you posted to me. And sorry you can't see my pic bc others can and someone commented on it already so like I said, it's not just you that matters. Please don't post a reply because I don't want to be bothered by you anymore. Thanks-

From re-reading your posts I think you misunderstood what I was trying to say originally, I probably misunderstood what you were trying to say as well, either way, this has gone on enough, sorry if you took things the wrong way, I just hate seeing these cars (or any car really) ruined by bad parts but in the end it's not like that matters much anyway, so if you're happy with your 150 dollar wannabe bumper that's great, knock yourself out, more power to you, I'll just make a note to stay out of knockoff threads from here on out, people don't like to hear that the deal they're getting really isn't much of a deal, but on the other hand, it's not my job to tell people that anyway.

Btw OP I doubt your replica bumper is made by the same material as the authentic kit. And like I posted earlier.. have a body shop build u a custom piece.. it shouldn't be very expensive.

I agree, its hard to know exactly how the other person is trying to express what their writing in a message as appose to speaking with the person. Yes I am happy with my wannabe as you call it bc it hasn't given me any issues, went on the car perfect fit, and even Mazda dealer thought it was the real one believe it or not so I think I made out pretty well. I def. know what you mean by replica body kits from other companies since I had bought one for my Jetta Years ago and it was a piece of junk!! If that was what I had bought then I would agree but thank god I didn't as I researched this time. Thanks for reply, no need for that bs we did b4.
take care-
