Need front bumper

I had a little mishap where I hydroplaned in a heavy rain and hit a metal sign post on the side of the road. It was just enough to put a gouge and some deep scratches in the front bumper and make my headlights point down.

I need help with 2 things now...

1. Does anyone know where the automatic headlight leveler is? It apparently got knocked when I went off the road and needs to be moved/bent back. My dealer said it's behind the front tire, but wouldn't point it out to me. I didn't see it when I looked for it. I don't know if I'd recognize it if I did find it though.

2. I need a replacement bumper. As long as I have to buy a new bumper, I thought I'd explore getting something that looks a little unique. I want to spend as little as possible though. I don't have the money or the desire to dump a bunch of money into a custom ride. So... if anyone knows of an inexpensive good quality front bumper... or if anyone has replaced theirs and would sell their old one cheap... let me know. I'm in South Florida.

1. They're behind the front wheels pain in the ***. Lift your hood remove fuse box cover use flash light look behind head light see that white plastic thing with teeth? use a philips head screew driver to turn it left and right to move your lights up and down. Same gos for the left side remove the ecu cover same thing.

2. Call Jason www.mazdaparts.com get painted or unpainted up to you.

Good luck!

Thanks for the description. I'm hesitant to adjust them this way though because "both" lights are aimed downward since the "meet the ditch" eposide. I'm thinking that there might be a single level somewhere that controls both lights.

Does it sound like this could be the case? Or do they each self-level... which would mean my bumper cover may be shifted or the front end is possibly more damaged than I thought, preventing them from leveling correctly?

I have a base model 8. I do not have hids. So your lights might be different.

From what I was told the RX-8 lights are "self adjusting" but thats not the case on my base 8.

There is a screw that flows into the lamp assembley from behind you can see it . You have to take off your front bumper to see it real good. That screw will adjust the complete head light assembly up and down but I cant get to it with a tool. I would have to take off the complet head lamp assembley.

The plastic white thing I was telling you about will adjust just the low beam light(s) up or down only.

Stand out side and look at your head light(s) not the high beam just the low. You will see a small arow shape point. That is controlled by the silver teeth that is incased with white plastic that I was telling you how to adjust with a philips head screw driver.

Hope that helps!
