What I don't understand is, even if this was going to be genuine, why do people start threads about what they are going to do, instead of just posting results after they've finished? Unless there are questions about the process that need answering, it just makes more sense to me to show something off after you're done rather than just blathering about your plans. Giddy anticipation does not overcome vaporware cynicism.
