Mulling over new Paintjob.

Hey all, well when i bought my car there was some damage to it already which is why i got it for so cheap from the dealer.

WELL. im wondering if i should get body work done to my car since i just recently debadged it, and there is a scratch by the gas lid (from the original owner and a dent on the drivers side (very small but annoying).

well a very close friend of mine knows a guy that will do ALLL the body work needed (filling holes, taking out dent, and scratches)
+ a new paintjob for $1300.

im thinking of painting it a "cream color" almost the same as my seats.

tell me what you guys think.

What would look sweet would be the color on the first gen XB's called Camo green.

I think a cream color with a pearl finish would look bad ***. Like the old 300xz's had.

I wouldnt paint it, I would just get the imperfections corrected. A scratch and dent could probably be fixed for under $300 bucks if your friend is really a friend. Then you dont have to ruin a special edition shinka.

his friends very close friend, so not his friend.. I have close friends that have friends that i dont know..lol but yea if thats legit do whatever you want. All i can say is out my experience 1300 from a friends friend not a good idea to me. just get the scratches fixed. say he did paint the outsdie what about the engine bay under the hood door seals trunk, I just doubt anyone who could do a good job would do that for 1300 thats alot of work sanding and taping and alot of hours for 1300 if your a respectable painter. in real life thats morelike 6-10k. but do what you wish its your car

yeah just fixing the de fects would probably be a good idea, i thought about this cause the set up i want (when i get thelip kit on) isnt gonna look to good with a cream color.

Have any friends that work at a dealership?

When I sold cars, there was always guys that would come out just to repair dents, dings, and scratches. They charged me $50 dollars to repair all my rock chips 2 years ago and $150 to take out a HUGE dent in my rear fender. THe dent was so bad that the paint was cracked in a couple places.

See if any of your buddys can hook you up.

Friends dont let Friends get $1300 paint jobs.

If you change your mind and decide to get the car painted besure to check out the shop and the friends work.

If the guy does good work and is giving you a great deal then that is great. But a bad paint job is worse then scratches and some dents.
