MS Front Bumper grill...

Hi,

I have an authentic MS bumper on the car and noticed that thru one of the mesh bits I can see an oil cooler but the other grill has some plastic backing hiding the oil cooler!? Is this normal?

Thanks,

Waz

looks like whoever you bought it from had an auto, and just 1 oil cooler.

The MS Front bumper kit comes with that backing, but you are not supposed to install it unless you have 1 oil cooler. If you have 2 oil coolers... i recommend taking that off immediately.

the temp scale has always been level, mind you that only shows the coolant temp.. I have a UK 230, is that meant to have 1 cooler or two?

You'll have to remove the bumper cover to take the plate off. The plate just screws on, so it's pretty easy to remove (again, once the bumper cover is off).

Hi, thanks for the advice mate. Bumper cover or do you mean the bumper? If it is the bumper anyone have a guide showings how many bolts need to be taken off? Bit concerned about only half the oil been cooled, not sure if I should be worried or not as the Aussies only have one oil cooler on their Hi-Powers and they r ok....

Yep, by bumper cover I mean basically the bumper (actually the exterior piece that fits over the bumper). I think there's a DIY somewhere here that explains how to take the thing off. Search for something like: bumper cover removal

I'm guessing Aussie MT '8s also have two oil coolers (can't imagine why they wouldn't), so you'll certainly want to make sure both are getting all the fresh air they can.

EDIT: Here's a link to a thread that shows how. Good luck!!
