MS body kits!! help!!!

I want to buy a MS body kit. a replica version. not the real MS kits. i live in denver, Colorado so every thing i buy for my RX8, I order it online. I have been looking everywhere online but doesn't know which website to trust. they all have the kits made out of fiber class. I don't want fiber class, the are suck, and in denver, there are not many body shop that can work with fiber class product perfectly. any suggestions guys.

well dude,

1) there are many many many threads about MS kits. use the search button up top. it helps out alotttttt.

2) why do you want a repica over the real kit? any reasons? the overall price youll end up paying more for fake and still not have perfec fit.

3) real MS kit comes with 12 month 12,000 mile warrenty...

use SEARCH! lol theres alot of info on the forum about the ms and every other kit you can think of

Search is your friend. But let me save you some time - you're not going to find a replica kit that you can rely on to give you a quality fit, and unless you have access to a friend who owns a body shop or some other way to get a ridiculously good deal on all the work it will take to make the replicas fit, you are better of saving and buying the genuine article.

I too am very fond of the MS look and I wish I could get it. But I also don't want to pony up the cash to buy the real kit (it is farking expensive, for realsies). I've looked very hard, and I can't find a way to get it done without the genuine article short of having access to free labor or getting blind lucky with a good fit.

This really sounds like one of alfy's alter egos....just not quite as funny

the real MS kit are so expensive, it almost $3000 to $4000. i searched on this website and found out lots of our member having a replica kits too. but don't know where they get it.

If anything, get replica sideskirts and rear. But do NOT get a replica front.

Yes, there have been some people who have found good replica's.

But they still have there problems

Fiberglass = run away

Urethane = better material, but will sag over time.

Pay $1200 or whatever price you can find the Authentic front bumper for. Then search around and find replica side skirts and rear.

i agree. replica sides would be easier to modify or hide imperfections than the front. cough up the money for a real front, you won't be sorry. it has to match up perfectly, and touches/lines up to a lot of other parts, so doing body work on this would be a pita!! :bootyshak not to mention expensive

1. I have never heard of "fiber class" is it a new material? ;)
2. Get the authentic, it is more but you can just put it on yourself, no painting of fixing.
3. Do it NOW!

If you dont' want fiberglass, get the Authentic. Sorry buddy but you gotta pay to play.
The replica MS front fits terribly!
The rear is too high up, you can see the exhaust canisters quite easily as opposed to the real deal. (local member had it, looked hideous) He eventually threw it away and bought the authentic

MS replica wing is also horrible. The brackets are cheaply made

Z0oMzo0m 07-08-2009 04:06 PM

I have authentic and love the way it went right on, fit perfect and looks clean.... ives seen some replicas and you can almost instantly see the difference from authentic and fake.

yeah, seriously, i got a non-oem trunk lid and was so excited...and i put it on...and my jaw dropped. i was like WTF. ha ha. i'd suggest save up for the real think. unless you know a guy how got a replica, where he got it, what he paid, and how much he paid in labor so you can add it all up and know it'll be cheaper, just get the authentic...

there is a reason why the knock-offs are cheaper...

Fluid motorsports os trustworthy. I'm not sure how their price is on the MS stuff though. I do know that they sell it though.

notorque 07-09-2009 11:27 AM

think of it like this.
1500 for quality replica kit+ 800 to paint match=2300 for fiberglass
3000 for a real one paint matched to your car..

Even a quality replica will still need some fitment I would expect, and there's always the chance the paint match won't be perfect. I'd say that the real deal is $700 better.
