Modify the Paint?
We were at a show today, and started talking to this guy who did the most realistiic flame paint job we've ever seen. Turns out he loves to customize.
He will actually mold the MB side skirts to the car, and then made a suggestion, after pointing out the Mazda is infamous for their orange peel:
He suggested that we (he) get the car lightly sanded, then he would cover the paint with crushed glass, and then clear coats again. He said the orange peel would be gone, and the sparkle of the VR would be really deep.
He offered the total package, molding and painting the spoilers, doing the entire car with crushed glass, for $1200. Why so low? He's just going out on his own and wants to get the word out, and he wants to put a little decal in our rear window, advertising his shop.
We don't want flames, we just want to know about the whole crushed glass deal...
Would you do it? Opinions?
PS...I will post a pic of the paint job later...

No, no, I don't want flames! He just did such a fabulous job on them...I am asking if you would do the crushed glass over your original paint job! Sorry if I wasn't clear on that!

I don't think so, I just met the gut today at the show. His name is Chris and he's from Campville, NY.
Just to reiterate, I don't want flames! lol

as for the crushed glass question i say go for it.....its only paint and if it gets messed up he is responsible.....things like this are what set you apart from the others....got any close ups of his paint so we can make a more precise evaluation?
