Has anybody done the install???? How difficult??? any cutting??? ect.....

 

I did it. Pretty simple. Rosenthal has a list of instructions you can look at on their website but for some reason, the one for the rear bumper isn't working. The instructions are pretty clear on what you need to cut. You'll be pretty much cutting the fake mesh, the rear rotary symbol and enlarging the exhaust cutouts on the inside portion of them. It took me about 45 minutes to install it.

 

A couple of friends and I installed it on my car. Piece of cake. It's weird cutting your own car apart, but it makes sense when you're finished.

Duct tape.

Just make sure you don't cut it with a pocket knife because it will turn whatever you stick the duct tape to into a bomb. This is one of the primary rules of Macgyver Physics. You don't want to blow up your car now do you?

 

It could take you 45 minutes if you follow the directions and believe in yourself that you won't make a mistake. You'll find yourself trying to decipher the diagram that assists you in where to cut your stock bumper...you'll look at it several times. The hardest part is where the exhaust shrouds used to be...the cut across the fake mesh is easy. I used a sawzall.....used a hacksaw when doing the install on another members car...both worked fine because you don't actually see your cuts after placing the MS bumper on top....DIY, definately. Why pay a shop money to cut up your car...

 

When cutting the rear, the instructions recommends a hacksaw, but does anyone think a dremel tool will do the job?

 

sure, should work....I have never been good with a dremel, just seems to bounce all over the place and make a nasty looking cut edge. But then again, you will be covering your cut edge with the MS rear add on...
