Hey ladies and gents, I'm new here. I've always wanted to own an RX-8, now that I'm a Soldier in Iraq actually making some money, it looks like I finally have the opportunity.
First, let me tell you what I'm planning on doing to my RX-8. I was thinking about buying a brand new one, but I really want to buy one of the older ones with Red and Black interior, preferably a nice one, and make it look... extra special
I've already got a body kit picked out, namely the VIS Racing Razor Style Full Body Kit. Got a nice carbon fiber spoiler picked out as well. Color doesn't matter, I'm going to repaint it metallic black even if it's already black unless the paint is looking very nice. On top of that I want to get a printed wrap put on it by Modern Image in CA (I'm in AZ so I'd have to drive up there, but that's OK). Going to put a red matrix pattern on it running prominently in the front, and fading into pure black toward the rear, like my avatar only turned sideways. I also want to have 1 or 2 strips of Matrix letters running up and over the car like racing stripes. Again, red not green letters to match the car's interior and also give it an even more unique look, with the license plate MATRX-8. By the way, if you live in arizona and take my plate before I can have it made, I'm gonna find you and hand you over to my old Drill Sergeant!
My question for you guys, and the main purpose of this thread is this question:

I just don't want my army buddies saying "man, cool car, but those lambo doors look stupid on it." and Honestly, I don't know if I would really like them or not.

Welcome to the addiction, uh, i mean club, Quiz! 
I love the idea of wrapping your 8 in matrix themed letters. Maybe you could photoshop em enough so that they say rotary or something like that but still look all matrixy from afar. Dunno, just throwing ideas out there.
As for the lambo question, some cars can pull it off, but most just can't. You may just wanna wait until all of your work is done, and then see if you still want them. Personally, I wouldn't want them, but thats just me.
Anywho, enjoy all the fun your 8 has to offer!

Thanks for the feedback. I considered something like that, though I'm not sure how difficult it would be or how it would look. I asked an artist I found on DeviantArt if he would redo his image at 15,000w x 30,000h pixels with a few alterations, but have not yet gotten a reply back. I saw another image that I liked, I may try that artist instead. If not, then perhaps the good folks at Modern Image are up to the job.

there was another thread like this a while back... I think it was mazdamaniac who posted a pic of his black 8 w/ the lambo doors and it looked great. If you do everything right you can pull if off so go for it. Btw, don't worry about what your army buddies say, its your car. Do what you think is right for YOUR car.
