Its funny I thought I would be at the point where I would have been able to mod much more on my car and now after my Pettit SC all other mods are now cheap and there are more to get every week it seems... |

Hey guys I found the video on youtube I was talking about. It is a little over 10 minutes but it is worth watching. I'm sure many have already seen it or part of it because it has been posted here many times :)
For all the talk of sunroof or no sunroof, they kept theirs! As you can see from the pics the install is going to be costly!! Link to vid: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bn93G...e=channel_page Screen shots of their CF roof http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...se_no_roof.png http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...lling_roof.png http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...th_sunroof.png |
Ok so the part is 1600 usd, but how much do you all think its actually going to cost to get it put on
Just watched the youtube video and yea theres no way its gonna by financially worth doing the installation is going to be ridiculous |
ya I don't think this leg cf roof would be an overlay since it's for their track car. Adding more weight wouldn't make sense. I'm assuming it's prolly a replacement.

BTW I will be placing an order for another part from Leg Motor Sports soon :ylsuper: |
We should get a GB going for this.. I want one.
But we should do it after summer ;) Because my S/C is first :O |
so who is going to be the first one to order and try to install this, so the rest of us might know what all to expect
|
I'm wondering what the underside is like.
|
you would need a new windshield the only way to get the oem one out is to break it,,,
mines is getting sandblasted from road debris, and I imagine the rear window is the same deal, I could probably get a new front windshield by shooting it with a bee bee or chipping it with a rock, I have a low deductable, but I cant think of a way to break my rear window at the same time... |

$1600 for carbon from japan isn't dramatically expensive. Also M3 carbon roof is like 3-4 so... i'm wondering. Someone jump on this and test the waters! :)
I know what genuine JDM tuner parts cost, I buy nothing but genuine parts for my car... |

^ a race car comes down to every single pound. I dont think that the weight concerns him personally however when on a race car its taken into close consideration.
|
Couldn't you just have a shop make a cut out for the sun roof to go in, or would this ruin the structural integrity of the CF?

^ So just what kind of prices where you looking at from the Greeks shop
|
I agree it is different but my point was you can see the bones of the roof and the fact they made a cut out for the sunroof. I still think we can learn from their install. Anyway here is a pic of them standing of the roof.

IMO i dont think the carbon roof would be any lighter than the current aluminum roof we have. and $1600 for the carbon roof is just a bling factor... but i still want it!
