Smile Leather parking brake handle...

Here is a shot of the leather parking brake handle installed on my RX8...

Cool. Did the install go smooth? Did you have to remove the console or were you able to keep it in?

The install was pretty easy just need to follow the directions and be careful... The consol has to come out along with the passenger seat, no way around it. The whole project took about an hour and a half, and that was because I took my time and was very careful...

This looks nice! But...

What I really want is to have my plastic parking brake handle re-upholstered with black leather that closely matches the steering wheel... I think I'll head to an upholstery shop next Friday and find out if they can do it.
I just have a hard time believing that in order to have a leather handle, I'd have to buy a complete new one as an accessory and dismantle the center console. Hopefully, the upholstery shop will be able to do it without removal
But then again, maybe it is indeed not possible otherwise... time to find it out.

yeah- no reason to buy a new handle and dismantle- I bet in an hour or less leather could be sewn - or even velcro'd so that the seam (or velcro) is underneath the handle and not seen.
