It can be done.
I've only seen this black one below and a red one on some other site. The kit conversion goes for $3k.

you gotta admit...the car is pretty clean! as in it looks like he just waxed it.

For those interested I am selling my lambo door kit from convert2vertical for the RX-8. I have it listed in the for sale area for $1250. I had them install just the passenger door before doing the rest of the car and it seemed to tight for me to get in and out of the car granted I am middle aged so I dont bend quite as good as I used to but in any case, The kit is truly bolt on NO WELDING and works really well. If you are interested in the kit let me know as it is still for sale.

It looks cool , but you might not trying to squeeze out of the opening like a rat out of hole! How did you even barely get through that opening AWillsea?

I found the pictures of the red 8 with lambo doors.
HOW DO YOU GET IN?
No clearance at all, by looking at the second picture below.

Jonjieracer 11-07-2004 12:18 AM

that 3k for me will go to greddy turbo kit

Looks phat but extremely impractical..... you've got to limbo under the doors to try to fit in.
Definitely out of the question for everyone bar a contortionist. :)

Maybe that's why they are called "lambo" doors :D
It's just a typo...

I checked decah for their universal kit and i saw its only for 1600$=1260euros in trc-tuning.com.Good price but not completely bolt-on.Needs some modifications.I am going to ask them cause it looks very goo in my eyes and if i can get in-out easy without bending like a rubber,i ll go for it

I dont like the Lambo doors. At the SEMA show all the cars trucks and suv's that had them where all flimsy.

On that note, I was curious whether you are required to get an engineer's certificate or a certificate of roadworthiness when you install the Lambo doors?

DOMINION 11-11-2004 03:55 AM

Man that I dont know. But when this guy went to close his Lambo door on his H2 I thought it was going to gall off the same on Honda and so on.

thew 11-11-2004 04:47 AM

i seel the kit new as well
bolt on

AWillsea 11-11-2004 08:10 AM

The door they installed on my 8 was rock SOLID. The kit is not flimsy at all. I am just too big a guy to try and squeeze through that opening. My kit from convert2vertical is still for sale in the Parts For Sale area.

thew 11-11-2004 01:31 PM

did you take any pics of it? i can use on my site as well.

Mugatu 11-11-2004 01:57 PM

there is a reason why lambo doors belong on a LAMBORGHINI. Cars that put these doors on after the fact were never designed to allow the correct space when opened.

shigginsrx8 11-11-2004 02:18 PM

If you get Dihedral Synchro-Helix Doors you should have plenty of room to get in and out ;)
