Integrated Trunk Lip Spoilers
Hey guys I am looking for an after market trunk for my 8 that has one of those integrated lip spoilers. I've looked, but can't really find anything similar to this one that I saw in a thread a few days ago. Pic is attached below. I know this was a custom job, but if anyone could find me something similar, I'd appreciate it. I know that Autoexe, and I believe Autobahn make one that is sorta similar, but not close enough.

So basically what I want would most likely have to involve a custom mold of an after market lip to the trunk, which would probably be pretty expensive in the end, right?

maybe not. you have an OEM spoiler now, so you would need the holes filled anyways. might as well kill 2 birds with one stone. maybe a few hundred to get it done plus the cost of the spoiler. much less than it would cost to get an autoexe or similar trunk, plus get it painted.

Oh really? That would actually save me a lot of money. Thanks.
Do you have any recommendations of some lips spoilers that would look pretty good molded? Not necessarily like the one above, just similar. I want the lip to be pretty noticeable, but no outrageous. The Autoexe one seems kinda like a waste since there isn't really that much lip to it at all.

I was actually considering this for a while, but I don't really like how it sits on top of the trunk. The lip part is nice, but the rest of the spoiler extends too far toward the front of the trunk. Basically I want something with the lip like that, but molded. Sorta like the CSL spoilers for the M3, if you know what I mean. The one in the pic that I posted is pretty much it, but I'd like the lip to be a little higher.

Ive been thinking of this for a while, best example is the BMW M3 CSL. Then, like you I saw this pic a few days ago and thought damn someone beat me to it.
Custom is the way to go with this. Just get a bodyshop to mould a lip on (use the pic for reference?) and ask for it to be higher lower etc

On the RX-8 they are basically a Euro option though we did get a version of them here in Oz on the 05/06 (06/07 in US Speak) Luxury Special Edition. My car is an 05 LSP and it has this bobtail that's how I know, and I just fitted one to a friend's 06 Luxury.
They were made for Mazda OZ by a local spoiler manufacturer called Talon, the best place to buy one is through Sydney Special Vehicles as they offer a painted ready to go service and their paint matching is very good. Go here:
http://ssv.com.au/model
type in Mazda > RX-8 > Bobtail to get to the product, then send an enquiry re your paint colour and shipping. They're made of fibreglass, and require the drilling of two bolt holes so its a professional fit job if you're not experienced with drilling into sheet metal

Re-Amemiya would be an option. There is one other company that has one of equal size. If I remember I'll post it.

Finally! This is exactly the setup I am planning on doing. Autoexe trunk with the Mazdaspeed rear. Can you post some other angles of the rear of this car?
Oh and the only reason I didn't mention the Autoexe trunk is due to the fact that the picture on their website doesn't really reveal the lip at all. Also I had forgotten about this one. Thanks though.

I actually do want the Autoexe, now that it's clear that it is what I've been looking for. And are you sure that's not the MS rear? Obviously looks similar, are you sure it's not a replica? I know the color isn't two tone like the authentic, but I was talking about the style.
