I think I'm in love..

I checked out an RX-8 today, just to look [probably gonna test drive it saturday]. I sat in it and I just got the feeling that this car was definitely for me [the 8 in general]. I can't explain it, haha. I definitely can't wait to drive it around and yes I will be getting a compression test done.

It's a 2005 Sport, I believe, Sunlight Silver with a bodykit. Not sure what the "trending" bodykits are but I haven't seen this one around so I'm pretty sure it's unpopular on here.

Well, my post wasn't really about the body kit, but I guess someone took it as that.

Here's a picture anyways;

Doesn't have the front lip, I believe?
I haven't looked that much into body kits, so I dunno.
Go ahead and poke fun at it

You did post this thread in the exterior apperance and bodykit section. If you intended for the discussion to be about the car and not the bodykit you would have been better off posting in the general topics, just some advice.

looks like veilside replica body kit. if you do get it, you might want to get a front bumper too. stock front with veilside skirts and rear don't match really well in my opinion. but yeah definitely get a compression test done just to be sure

Not feeling the rear design of the kit...sorry. Anyway, good luck with the compression test, and keep us updated with the outcome.

Is it just me or do the rear tires look stretched? Be careful with the buy, usually cars with outlandish body kits have been beat on fairly good.... but at least this car looks very clean.

& yeah, I'm not so fond of the rear end, but they can be removed [although carefully], correct? From what I've read elsewhere that's what I got.
I'll definitely be updating on whether I buy or not. Only two owners and a clean carfax, so far so good.

What do stretched tires mean exactly?

A narrow tire on a wide wheel is stretched.

That is typically what it means to have a stretched tire. In this case the tire must be very small to look stretched onto the OEM rim. Maybe its just a camera trick .

I went to drive it yesterday. There were some minor exterior blemishes, but nothing serious. And a few small covers/plastic parts missing inside which they will replace. I got approved to get the car so we'll see how this works out. I'm going to go drive another one before going back to that one just to compare.

I think I'm probably going to pass on the silver, but if anyone is interested in knowing which car I do get, I guess you can read my post in the lounge?

check compression of every one, i didnt on mine but it only had 29k on the clock.

Id rather have a good compression motor with a shitty bodykit that only costs 1k or 2 to fix than one that needs a new engine and all the hassle that comes along with that. Take your time choosing, there are alot of good deals out there.
