How to fix Scratches

Hi!

I have a new Galaxy grey Rx-8, which someone had crashed into when it was parked at my apt... In fact the rear bumber (just above the left exhaust) had come out and there were a thin lines of scratches, some deep enough to expose the black plastic of the bumber... (by the looks of it, it looks more of a cycle collsion or something)

Anyway, I wanted to know what is the best way to cover this up so that I wont notice the change? I do have a touch up paint but i am not ready to have patches on it... (As I havent used it before), please tell me whats the best way to apply the touch up paint?

Thanks for the suggestions...

Try a search here. They have many good DIY's.
Not as good as OUR DIY's, helpful though!

Could you post a pix?

Note langka does not work at all. If you want to do things right, you need to fill in the scratch/chip with touch up and let it dry for a day or two and sand it down with a 3k grit. Afterwards just polish it out.

Is it safe to sand the paint like that? Does it help the the touch up paint to blend into the clear coat? I might try this becasue my front bumper is so messed up anyway.

For little tiny paint chips—the kind the 8 seems to get—Langka works for me.

Langka only seems to suck with dark metallic paints. For some reason, the touch up always looks a lighter color.

Yeah for tiny rock chips it works but for scratches and bigger chips langka really doesn't work as it just rubbs of too much of the tuch-up paint off.
