anyways, I have a 2004 RX-8, how do I remove the strakes form the car? Honestly I can't stand the way they look...kind of interfering with my plans for the car lol.

turn the wheel, pull off the wheel well plastic, easy, just look and you can figure it out. reach in. you'll feel two (i think, maybe 3 i dont remember) sets of clips basically on the fender vent. pinch them together, it will pop right out. then it's a simple matter of a phillips head screw driver. sorry for the bad description, but it's very straight forward when you get to it.

you can actually just pull back on the vent and the clips will unhook. no need to get through the fender plastic. I took mine off this weekend in 10 minutes

 

yea i got it done this past weekend too, I like it, looks alot cleaner without them to me. one more question...how hard is it to take the big piece of plastic off of the back fender? its getting a bit faded and i think im going to re-finish it. thanks everyone!

 

why do you need to take it off for that? just tape off the surrounding areas if you have to. what are you using to re-finish?

i was going to use semi gloss/high gloss automotive paint. for one its starting to fade a bit, and I also want it to be a bit glossier to match my wheels once they are done. my friend is doing the wheels next week so I thought the color match would look good.
