Smile Help Scratches On New Rx-8

I Just Bought A New Silver Rx-8 And It Already Has Scratches On The Driver Side, Not Deep Scratches. What Should I Do? Should I Take It To Get Detailed Or Should I Take It To The Dealer? :d

depends on how long you've had it, i think you should bring it back to the dealer to see what's up then contact your insurance if needed.

When I first got mine, they had it in the showroom overnight to keep it safe. Because of that, every punk who came inside with a ring on decided to try and open the door. Thus, little scratches all around the handle. I was told that if you rub your nail over them and it doesn't catch, that they can be buffed out. Any deeper, they have to be retouched.

You might try Meguire's Scratch and Haze remover first before you go back to the dealer...a must have for car detailing.

Ditto that St Char......my son used the same product tonight on his car.....our neighbor lent it to him....it did a great job on some scratches that came about from a flying taxi cab hub cap.....we went right to Walmart and bought a tube....

If you're going to do it yourself, and you don't want to risk doing more damage than you're taking out, a really gentle product like 3M Swirl Mark Remover will reduce the appearance of fine scratches so the light doesn't catch them as much.

I've applied it by hand -- all you have to do is start with a clean dry surface, spread around a little of the compound, work it in until it's shiny, then buff with a clean terry towel.

When using clay bar its better to use a light dishwashing soap with water instead of the spray. Just a small tip a owner of a detail shop gave me....plus its cheaper and some clay bar kits don't come with the liquid...
