Good knock off kit?

I've heard this arguement go back and forth whether knock off body kits can sometimes fit as well as the real thing. well which is it? because i got a real veilside bodykit over a year ago and the thing fit like crap, now i'm sick of the kit and want something else but i want to try a poly kit and not fiber, but it seems as if only fakes come in poly. So should i go fake or real? and if i do a knock off which brand is the best?

I think youre gonna get a mixed reaction here to your post...some will say that real kits fit better and replicas are a bad fit....others will say that both have issues...

i have a Veilside V1 front lip (the real deal) and the D1GT skirts and rear bumper replicas....

i had the whole works painted and installed by the same guy....without any problems....a fellow friend had the V1 real deal lip installed also and said there were fitment issues for that....
I really think it has to do with who actually manufactures the replicas....
I would do little research after i choose the style i wanna go with..

the only kit that is gonna be a great fit is gonna be the real MS....there are fake MS in poly but they are so common now it looks like a stock car....tsunami looks good and is cost effective but there is no rear and the front ans sides dont line up.....shine is making a few....may wanna check on thier GB's

Knock-offs go both ways, some fit just as well as the authentic, others fit horrible. The MazdaSpeed style kits that I'm selling are made from a mold that was cast from the authentic kit, so there are pretty much no major fitment issues as it fits just like the real thing. What alot of people seem to forget is just because a kit may be authentic does not ensure that the fitment is going to be perfect, as someone stated in the 2nd post. Alot of the times the fitment is off on replicas because they were made from a bad mold, etc.

Im looking into getting a MSpeed replica wing ( the real thing is sooo expensive).. whats a good brand/place to get one?? rotary extreme only carries Carbon fiber versions, seems a bit of a waste to paint CF

i hear ShineAutoProject makes good replicas.

when i was researching Shine, someone said something i thought was profound. they said there is a difference between knock-offs and replicas.

Should I go for the urethane replica from mazdaparts or the FRP from VIS. Only reaon I would go with the FRP is because Kris was saying the fittment is perfect or near perfect and I have no idea on the one from Mazdaparts. Also, I have heard some bad things about Mazdaparts shipping in the past.

I call bullshit on this, pics and proof please.

I'll say it again and again, enve though I know some people just don't get it.

"go real or go home"

Your car and your hard earned cash deserve better than shitty ripoffs by shady people who profit by ripping off other companies, do yourself and the industry a favor and just buy the real thing, why bother otherwise.

(It took me over 2 years to get my real MS, and I'm glad I waited, it's worth the result, you get what pay for, especially in car parts and aftermarket accessories).

edit: that's not to say every now and then a real kit doesn't come out defective, but still, compare an occasional defective kit to millions of fakes that don't fit.

they use a different measure of perfection than we do so i would say for the most part yes they are far better....

my veilside needed minimal work....but it wasnt that bad.....so i can attest to his comment to a certain degree.....but a knock off of something that isnt perfect to begin with will ultimately be far worse
