ghost flames?
Has anyone considered ghost flames on a RX8? If so, any pics? Saw pics of other cars and thought it may look wild on the 8. Suggestions or opinions.

sometimes when u do additions to the car such as this...it degrades the car...maybe u should have someone photoshop whatever ur interested first..just so u can get an idea..instead of wasting the money and disliking it later...just a way to save money..."just incase" :D

I do airbrush work in my spare time and I used to work at a paint shop, and by looking at the picture it appears to be fairly easy. Basically, they used a template, or tape, to outline the flames, then they sparayed around the inside edges with a lighter blue or transparent white. I would say less than a grand, probly around $400 to 600.

hahha 400 to 600??? thats not no earl sheib job... that 400-300 will merely cover the cost of the materials...what about the labor?? masking and painting flames is very tedious...your looking at an easy grand and up for a job like that...but if you could find a shop that can do it for that price, get it done and show me the pics...then i'll shut up...=)

I doubt it would cost a grand. There is no primer needed, no sanding, the only hard part is masking. and what materials would cost that much money?? Transparent white, some mask, and thats about it. You don't need to pay for the airbrush or anything else like that, so I can't see it costing close to that much. It would maybe be a 2-4 hour job at the most, cmon its just ghost flames.

Like I said, the price would DEPEND on which 'ghost vinyl' you pick and the size, but I know that you want at least an estimate...so I would say for flames starting by your headlights and going to the rear fender...about two or three hundred. Which is a very low price for graphics, especially this type. This type of vinyl costs more than 'regular' vinyl (ex: black, red, etc. but is less than reflective or brushed aluminum). We are doing this because we enjoy it!
If you are interested PM or e-mail us at ninethirteenms@hotmail.com and after we have a pic of your car we can show you what it would look like. Also, don't worry...we can send you instructions on how to install it.

Check out this web site. They do vinyl flames, decals etc. Look under the catagory of "Custom Design", then "Browse our online catalog". You will see a listing with a drop down menu and it has it's own "Flames" catagory and a whole lot more. Most of the flames that I saw were about $40. and were removable vinyl.
