On my car the front splash guard has 3.75" of clearance and the lip has 4" of clearance from the side. Unfortunately I do not have a great pic from the side showing the heights of the two. Unless you really look for it you do not notice the splash guards are .25" lower.

If the lip is just a stop gap until you get the KS bumper then this is a good call. The LEG lip is pricey so unless you want to keep it (like me) it is not worth the price.
