Front Bumper Support

I am planning on doing some major ducting work with aluminum and am wondering if the front bumper support is necessary for body rigidity? I understand it is a crush point and the toughing attach point but beyond is it significant to the structural integrity (body twisting). this image link shows a drift car where it has been removed completely.. I figure, ok for a drift car ok for me..

Thanks in advance for any input..
