canards are the aero pieces on the sides. you can order it without them as well. click the Sage Auto link in my sig. go to the contact info and email them for a quote. there is a sale going on for Vertex right now and they are an authorized vendor for Vertex. the fitment was very spot on. only issues i had were that 2 holes needed to be enlarged. it was very well worth the money for a high quality bumper with no fitment issues.

Canards, which are mini-wings located forward on the nose, lose lift initially, dropping the nose and thereby increase velocity before the main wing stalls and so contribute to greater flight stability.

Oh, wait a minute, that's the Euro-Fighter.

Same aerodynamic principle tho', but of course in this application help stick the vehicle to the road.
