Freshly back from the body shop...

After many months, I finally have my car back.

It was a victim of a cowardly hit and run in the parking lot of my shop, and insurance felt it wasn't payable. The bumper cover was ruined, as was the fender and the thousand dollar headlight (HID :-/).

Through some help on these forums I was able to find a white bumper cover. A friend at a car lot was able to help me get a fender, and eBay netted me a headlight for 150.

Since it was in the shop anyway, I had them smoke all the lights. I am wholly impressed with the body shop. Superior Paint and Customs here in Abilene. The guy actually got the color so perfect that he didn't have to blend the hood, door, or other fender. Tasty.

Also... if these display too large on anyone's screen, tell me and I will resize them. They don't stretch the screen on my computer, but my resolution is 1440x900.

Also: Headlight at night shot:

The before shot...

Well... they are kinda nasty. I still have to do a REAL wash and detail. I was just so excited to get it back after a billion years that I just took it through the XStream car wash, then drove it around all day.

The body shop was phenomenal.

I actually have plans to have a friend in the exhaust business build me something. He had told me that he could build me the exact same Magnaflow ($1200.00) for exponentially less... I'd just put some black chrome tips on it then. :-)

"friends in the exhaust business" never seem to do exhausts right for rotary's. whole different sound and output...

you can get sexy exhausts for 4-600 easy brand new. exoticspeed is exponentially sexy and has oem fit with titanium mufflers AND tips for like 650

I will certainly check into this. :-) I love me some titanium.

From what I'm told by him, Magnaflow has supposedly developed this system for the RX-8. I don't know how good it is, but I know the Magnaflow setup my acquaintance built for my Prelude was fantastic. Obviously the rotary is a completely different animal, but it was his opinion that he could build this same setup for half the price.

However, I was not aware of what you suggest. I will look into your suggestion with more fervor than I had originally searched.
