Fog light grills

Can anyone confirm whether there are supposed to be grills (OEM) in the space around the fog lights? I just noticed mine doesn't have any, leaving the radiator exposed to road rocks, etc.

Either way, I'd like to get some in there but am not having an easy time finding a pair. Anyone have recommendations?

No. Grills did not come with the car (another poor design choice by Mazda, imo).

However, you can simply either make some of your own, or else go to racing beat's website and order some. I have the oil cooler and A/C condenser screens from them.

FYI, I may consider selling oil cooler screens.

EDIT: I just realized the title says "fog light screens". The screens I have don't cover the fogs, just the coolers behind them...

Yeah, that was a poor choice of words by me. I definitely don't want to cover the fog lights, just around them. I'll check out that site, thanks! Let me know if you're interested in selling.

This is what you need... or if you want to do it in a cheap way, you can even make screens yourself.

Thanks for the link, damn those things are pricey for some metal mesh! I'm definitely thinking that making my own would be the way to go then like you both suggested.

Off topic, how the hell can I get 20MPG out of your 8??? Do you mostly drive highway? I just did the plugs, wires, coils, new cat installed, etc. Other than trying to hyper-mile this thing, 18 is my current record. LOL

you can buy just the oil cooler screens for cheaper. The link Tamas posted are for the oil cooler screens AND the A/C condenser screens...
Check the DIY's how to make your own.

As for mileage, 18mpg is normal, and hypermiling is retarded. If you're that concerned about mileage, sell your 8 and buy a civic

Oh don't worry, I'm not planning on it, that was a joke. But I still wouldn't mind getting a couple more MPGs out of her.

Mines don't have it either. I think it will look better with some sort of a grill on the sides.

A lot of freeway driving... all freeway, I'm easily well above 22 mpg. If you check my Fuelly log in my sig, you can see how much freeway / city driving I do and what the tank mileage is.

That makes sense. I'm definitely in the "normal" range for the driving I do then.
