Good attempt.....the edged really need finishing. Did you use temperature appropriate epoxy? I can see this was an overlay vacuum bagging would be a better option it would come out alot better.

Yes the edges are a little bit messy but i will fix it! I used top coat epoxy retin only and then just sit and wait. When finished i trimed it a little but the surface was too messy and i was woried with the retin thiknes:sweatdrop So i leave it just as it is,i am just worried about the engine bay temperature:sweatdropIf i see any melted epoxy retin i will know my mistake :fingersx:Although i think its a good attempt cause its the first time that i make some carbon fiber parts and all the retin was pain in the as*!!:spank: |
^ Be careful! you should check the flashpoint on the epoxy....I have never done engine bay parts but many others and know that some epoxies will do terrible in heat.

Out of curiousity, who makes the true carbon fiber covers?? I'm dying to find out.

There is a site that has real carbon covers.

Phantom, you the man!

Still looks a bit unfinished and one could easily tell that carbon fiber sheets were slapped on. Has potential, but needs more work IMO.
