here are some pics. pics excuse my dirty car and rusty rotors.

this is the vent that i said i would need to trim. you can see where it is a little fat which hinders the vent from going all the way down

this shot shows how the vent just barely covers the gap - and actually doesn't even quite make it along the very bottom. i wish fitment was better.

yea the driver side fits pretty good. the passenger one is the one that needs slight trimming. i think that with the trimming the right one will fit just as good as the other one. if anyone wants more pics let me kno

I have been asking Jay for a refund or replacements for months now for my version 1's (the ones you have to cut the tabs off before you even attempt to install) with no reply. Good Luck.

Basicly this is the same vent I send you guys... if you got the plastic ones. It is really just how you put them on. Need to make the new version clip in the back. Make sure center part in pushed all the way in.

Just got them today 10 sets. I have not put on the mash and metal brackets yet. Will put on tomorrow. Have to wait till my 8 comes back from the tune shop to test fit. They sure look sweet. I think 3K cross wave looks alot better than JDM 1x1 plain wave.

just an update for everyone. ive had them on for about two weeks and the new clips are holding up quite well, the vents have not budged and the mesh is still right in place.

OK that is good news, but I still haven't received anything yet, or a reply to my PM from 2-4-08. I just want this to be done and over so I can call my car complete.

Here is a copy of an email I got from Jay on 11-17-07:

"Matt,

I'll try to get them out to you on monday.

J."

Needless to say I have not received new vents or heard any more replies from Jay. I don't even own a RX-8 anymore. I was just hoping I could get some better fitting replacements so I could try and re-sell them on here. Looks like I spent $129.00 on something that no-one will ever be able to use because they fit so poorly.

It is the clips that nee to be redone. I'll post some info how to do this. So we don't need to ship the same stuff back and forth.
